Welcome and we’re happy that you are interested in taking a shot at becoming the opening act for Jared’s big CD release party this November 28th at the Forum.
Before we begin we just want to run over a few rules to make sure everyone fits the criteria. First and foremost this is a contest open to only area high school students with a few exceptions listed below. This is contest in search of a band, solo artist, duet or group with instrumentation to back them up unless it’s an A Capella group but we do ask there be no back up track or CD’s to sing along to. We’re looking for LIVE music!
As we said members must be currently in high school but back up musicians can be an exception but preferably we’re looking for two thirds of the group to be in high school. When planning to audition for the show please keep in mind the listening audience of Jared’s fans…Death Metal probably won’t have the best shot of making it. Clean music content is a must…no swearing or trashy lyrics. We would prefer original content for most of the performance but it won’t be the biggest deal breaker. The winner will be asked to perform a twenty to thirty min set to open the show.
We will be contacting you from your given information to set up an audition. Auditions will require two songs to be performed and your own instruments will be required as well. After the decision has been made we will contact the winner.
